The Loosest Slots in Las Vegas

Las Vegas StripMany a gamer, while blearily stumbling around the Las Vegas Strip in search of a new slots machine to play, has probably wondered, where are the loosest slots in Las Vegas? As you can imagine, this information is highly-guarded by casinos. Letting players know that some slots are loose (they payout often), whereas others are tight (they rarely payout) is a dangerous game, as slots players may seek out specific casinos, or slots, in the hope they hit it lucky and come across that much fabled loose slot.

Thankfully, access to this information has been made easier in the past decade. Michael Shackleton, of Wizard of Odds fame published a book in 2002 entitled Gambling 102 which dealt with the 10 loosest slots in Vegas, amongst other things. Shackelton's top 10 casinos in Vegas for slots payout, or slots payback as it's sometimes called, were as follows:

Top Ten Loosest Casinos in Las Vegas

Rank Casino Average Return
1 Palms 93.42%
2 Gold Coast 92.84%
3 Sahara Casino 92.81%
4 Bourbon Street 92.63%
4 (tie) Imperial Palace 92.63%
4 (tie) Slots a Fun 92.63%
7 Key Largo Casino 92.6%
8 Western Casino 92.57%
9 Ellis Island Casino 92.56%
10 (tie) El Cortez Casino 92.56%

This survey suggests that Palms casino resort, located on the Las Vegas Strip offers the loosest Las Vegas slots, as they have a slots payout percentage of 93.42% Shackelton admits that since these survey results are from 2002, they should now be taken with a pinch of salt, but later, more general surveys are just as enlightening. As Las Vegas forms just one urbanised area of Nevada, slots surveyors have turned their attention to other areas of Nevada, such as Mesquite, Lake Taho and the Boulder Strip. Below are the results for the loosest casinos in Nevada, as of 2006, divided into different regions:

The Loosest Casinos in Nevada

Rank Area Average Return
1 The Boulder Strip 94%
2 Mesquite 93.5%
3 Lake Tahoe 92.4%
4 North Las Vegas 92.3%
5 Reno 92.2%
6 Downtown Las Vegas 90.6%
7 Laughlin 92.6%
8 Las Vegas Strip 88.8%

From the above information, and the fact that the Nevada Gaming Commission ensures that slots payouts in Vegas casinos never drop below 75%, we can suggest that on average, slots in the Las Vegas area offer an average payout of 92%, whereas, slots in Nevada have a payout average of 91.6%. If we add these two figures together, we come out with an overall average of 91.8%. Although this figure is an incredibly rough estimate and one that is based on averages of surveys, we can hypothetically suggest that the average payout of slots in Nevada is around 91% and is never below 75%.We're sure these figures will certainly help you on your quest to find those fabled loose slots in Vegas.
