It’s been the major story of 2011 and has meant bad news for a number of online poker operators. For one operator the fallout from Black Friday has now got even worse as Full Tilt has been suspended from providing play by the Alderney Gambling Control Commission.
The jurisdiction, which is home to a number of online gambling operators including Circus Casino and Coral Casino, has now revoked Full Tilt’s license. The ruling is pending a July 26 hearing, but until then the poker site isn’t able to register new customers, accept deposits, allow withdrawals or permit customers to take part in any gambling transactions.
Executive director of the Alderney Gambling Control Commission confirmed the suspension and added that it: “was in the public interest and required immediate action ahead of the regulatory hearing.”
The bad news for Full Tilt players got even worse as they were effectively kicked out of their tournaments and haven’t been told whether funds will be returned.
