Atlantic City Undertaking Las Vegas-style Revival

Atlantic City officials have admitted that they learnt from the lessons of Las Vegas and other US cities during the creation process of their latest redevelopments.

The East coast gambling haven launched a brand new Tourism District last week which will involved the redesigning and development of certain areas of Atlantic City. These areas include the casino strip, beaches, Boardwalk as well as the Marina District, Bader Field and Gardner's Basin.

The decisions were made by the Casino Reinvestment Development Authority and followed in the footsteps of Las Vegas as it will be redeveloping a large area rather than focusing on a specific district.

Project management director Jeremy Sunkett said: "The message that we're trying to put out, is that if we build on successes we've had and create a thriving downtown, the entire city benefits."

However, the effects of the recession have been felt particularly hard gambling towns including Las Vegas and Atlantic City and the new Tourism District is by no means a final solution to the money troubles of the many casinos based there.
