Reports have surfaced on a number of entertainment websites recently about the creation of a new film called ‘Lay the Favourite’.
The film is about the online gambling industry and is believed to already have Bruce Willis, Justin Timberlake and Rebecca Hall. The film is Stephen Frear’s adaptation of American writer Beth Raymer’s book Lay the Favourite: A Memoir of Gambling. The memoirs are described as a coming of age tale that occurs around the rise of the online gambling industry.
Should the film be made, it will be the latest in a line of gambling films that include The Sting and Casino Royale. With such big names reported to be taking part in the movie and a theme that will certainly be of interest to online gamblers, Lay the Favourite looks set to be a film that we won’t want to miss.
