Atlantic City Boardwalk

Today we’re going to delve into the Casino Online mailbag once again and answer a few questions we’ve been sent about Atlantic City. As regular blog readers will remember, we recently blogged about casinos in Atlantic City, noting that while it doesn’t gain as much coverage as Las Vegas, Atlantic City does offer a first-rate gaming destination.

Well, today we’ll be continuing our quest to put Atlantic City on the gambling map by answering questions we’re often sent, such as how long is the Atlantic City boardwalk? and what is the legal gambling age in Atlantic City? While these questions might not seem of the utmost priority to some, you’ll be surprised to learn that it’s these very questions which can make or break a trip to Atlantic City. If we haven’t included a particular question which you’d like answering, make sure to leave us a comment saying so, otherwise, read on for our Atlantic City advice:

How Long is the Atlantic City Boardwalk?

While the Las Vegas Strip is considered as far superior, the Atlantic City boardwalk is arguably one of the best pedestrian paths in the States. Spanning four miles (six kilometres) and beginning at Absecon Inlet, which Wikipedia describes as “a narrow strait on the southeastern coast of New Jersey”, the walk encompasses the nearby beach and leads up to the array of casinos and resorts. In fact, on the boardwalk alone you’ll find the likes of Trump Taj Mahal and Atlantic City Hilton. While 4 miles may seem like a long walk, it’s definitely worth it.

What is the Legal Gambling Age in Atlantic City?

If you’re aged over 18 but under 21, you’ll no doubt be wondering how old you have to be to enter a casino in Atlantic City. While we didn’t feature Atlantic City in our recent post about gambling ages in the United States the legal gambling age in New Jersey (and therefore Atlantic City) is 21 for slot machines and casinos and 18 to take part in the lottery, bingo and other forms of betting.

What is the Closest Airport to Atlantic City?

While Atlantic City does have its own airport, which is located approximately 9 miles from the centre not many flights depart and land at the airport. Even though it would be easier to fly to Atlantic City’s airport, most travel agents will recommend that you visit via Philadelphia or Newark.

Where to Eat in Atlantic City?

So, now you know just how long the boardwalk is, how old you have to be to gamble and how to get to Atlantic City, you’ll no doubt now want to know about creature comforts such as eating and drinking. Well, while we aren’t catering connoisseurs, we recommend IL Mulino New York, an Italian restaurant which you’ll find in the Trump Taj Mahal and The Irish pub, located on the boardwalk, which offers homemade sandwiches and tasty beers. Both of these eateries offer affordable food and you’re sure to be able to gain a few restaurant coupons, which will allow you access to special offers and discounts.
