Global betting exchange Betdaq could be form a new partnership with bookmaker Ladbrokes should current talks between the two parties be successful.

As reported in the Daily Telegraph this morning, Richard Glynn's supposedly revolutionised Ladbrokes have opened discussions with Betdaq's owner, Irishman Dermot Desmond.

However, rather than acquiring the betting exchange, a Ladbrokes spokesman confirmed that any potential deal would be concerning technology.

He told the Telegraph: "It's only a discussion about technology supply."

"Exchanges have good up-to-the minute pricing technology."

The Irish betting exchange Betdaq was founded in 200 by Desmond and is currently valued at around £100 million. Ladbrokes also confirmed that funding for any potential deal would be taken from the £50 million set aside for online gambling expansion.

Ladbrokes currently operate a number of online products including Microgaming-powered casino Ladbrokes Casino, bingo, poker, financials and of course sports betting.

Following CEO Richard Glynn's arrival at the company in April 2010, a plan to rejuvenate the bookmaker by restructuring and expanding online has failed to truly deliver so far. Deals with 'pureplay' operators 888 and Sportingbet fell through while talks with software suppliers Playtech were originally blocked by a William Hill injunction.
