The Isle of Man is best known in the gambling and casino industry for being the home of many top online casinos. But new UK laws have meant that islands such as the Isle of Man, Malta and Gibraltar may not be quite so appealing to online casinos anymore. These islands have hosted the very best of online casinos over the years with 32Red, PartyCasino, Betfair Casino, InterCasino and William Hill Casino all operating from these shores.
However now the Isle of Man's government is turning their attention to land based casinos they are considering the idea of a luxury five star casino on the island. This would be the first luxury casino to be built on the island and would add to the Isle of Man's existing smaller casino - The Palace Hotel.
Director of the Department of Economic Development Business Tim Craine revealed that he believed the Isle of Man would be an ideal location for a new luxury casino resort.
However, fears have been raised regarding how much demand there is for a second casino on quite a small island. The Sefton Group who operate the Isle of Man's current casino, The Palace Hotel, claims that the idea of a second casino would be "unrealistic".
