bwin Sponsor Real Madrid
Bwin has now become the official betting partner of Manchester United, winner of 19 Premier League cups, eleven FA cups and three UEFA Champions League titles. The contract between the bookmaker and the football club has extended bwin's portfolio of international sports sponsorships.
The 20 million strong betting brand has taken the baton from Betfair, who were the football club's partner for three seasons. Under this new agreement, bwin will be the club's official partner until 2015.
bwin will also move on to be Manchester United's shirt sponsor from the 2013/14 season, replacing insurance company AON. Currently, bwin are sponsoring Spanish league champions Real Madrid, although that contract expires at the end of the year. They have also worked with AC Milan in a four year deal that was worth $49,000,000.
Manchester United has been described as a global brand and has a global fan base which is estimated to be between 75 and 330 million. This is a sentiment shared with bwin, as they too will sponsor the Portuguese League cup (soon to be the bwin cup) and already sponsor the Italian Serie B (now, Serie bwin).
bwin joins a line up of Manchester United sponsors which includes AON, Nike, DHL, Turkish Airlines, Epson, Thomas Cook, Bingha, Castillero del Diablo, Hublot and Chevrolet – a truly international array for a truly global team.
