Poker Chips
Just as we all thought the fuss created by Black Friday was all dying down, a US federal grand jury has gone ahead and stirred things up again. This time, by seizing even more domain names, including betmaker.com and doylesroom.com.
These particular seizures have been conducted by the District Attorney for Maryland. Attorney Rod Rosenstein said: “It’s illegal for internet gambling enterprises to do business in Maryland.”
These sites have been indicted along with two banks and even three individuals after a payment processing company named Linwood Payment Solutions was set up in order to build evidence against the accused.
Of the websites seized, the most high profile is the online poker room of poker legend Doyle Brunson. Brunson has won the World Series of Poker ten times and has been the spokesperson of the site since its creation in 2004. Brunson himself has yet to comment on the situation.
