Atlantic Paradise Island in the Bahamas has been the scene of the 2010 PokerStars Caribbean Adventure for the previous week and PokerStars’ big surprise came as, well...no surprise at all.
This is the unveiling of PokerStars’ new online poker pro, who has been playing under the name of 'Isildur1'. As many in the poker industry had expected, it was revealed that the new pro is the Swedish 20-year old, Viktor Blom.
The Swede shot to poker fame just after his eighteenth birthday after turning $2,000 (£1,280) into $2,000,000 (£1,280,000) in just three weeks. However, he has done all in his power to remain away from the spotlight and when previously quizzed as to whether he was Isildur1, he refused to comment or even denied that it was him.
Blom is known for his aggressive style of play, which led to him building up revenue quickly until one fateful day in December, 2009 when he lost $4,191,573.70 (£2,692,435) in one session to Brian “Stinger88” Hastings. However, Blom will now be playing as part of PokerStars’ online pro roster and will often be found at the $100/$200 and $200/$400 stakes tables.
