Las Vegas
Mayor Oscar Goodman’s wife, Carolyn, has been tipped to replace her husband as the next mayor of Las Vegas. On April 5th, citizens in Las Vegas will vote on who they want to be the next mayor of the city, and a recent poll indicates that Carolyn Goodman is leading the opinion polls. Goodman is estimated to capture 36.5% of the vote, and it’s believed that she’s left other candidates trailing mainly because of her husband’s popularity.
An article by AOL News indicates that Mayor Oscar Goodman is thought of fondly in Las Vegas, where the majority of residents appreciate his outlandish behaviour and stunts. Both Oscar Carolyn Goodman have made clear that, if the latter was elected, she would continue the work set out by husband. Speaking to AOL, Carolyn Goodman suggested she was "running because my husband has done so much downtown in the past 12 years, and it's such on the verge of really taking off”.
Larry Brown, a Las Vegas City Councilman and Chris Giunchigliani, a Clark County Commissioner, are two of the candidates also running for the mayoral elections, which will take place on April 5th, 2011.
