PartyCasino
Most online gambling companies have had their fair share of issues with the US government. However, PartyCasino and their operators Bwin.party have had more than most.
While some online poker operators chose to stay in the US following UIGEA in 2006, Party left the market and in an attempt to clear the air with the US government, ended up paying them a sum of $105 million (£66 million).
Now Jim Ryan, co-chief executive of bwin.party has been speaking to Forbes about Party's re-entry into the US. While this entry will be involving Party's flagship poker product – Party Poker, the hope for online casino players in the US would be that once they're offering legal online poker, a legal online casino would follow.
Speaking about the chance of Party Poker or PartyCasino operating in the US anytime soon, Ryan says that they'll just have to wait. However, he did say that having the American Gaming Association and a number of other casino companies on board would help considerably.
He added: "We have to be ready for both federal or state. It certainly feels good to have American taxpaying companies finally driving this."
