Gaming software developer Playtech has been practising what it preaches so far in 2012, as its first-quarter financial update reveals.

Casino revenues are up 35% year-on-year at the company, based on the quarter ending March 31st.

Income is up by a hefty 90%, and total revenues have risen by an impressive 104% over the past year.

William Hill members might be interested to hear that Playtech's share in the company's online operations has also grown, by 51% over the previous quarter and 34% over the year.

Playtech also works with Bet365, which has joined the Danish online gaming sector under new regulations in the country.

Closer to home, you may want to look out for new The X Factor and Britain's Got Talent games at your favourite Playtech casino, as the company has entered into an agreement with FremantleMedia, the production company behind the shows.

Mor Weizer, Chief Executive of Playtech, says all of the results for the first quarter combine to represent an "excellent start" to the year so far.

"Although we anticipate a seasonal slowdown during the traditionally weaker summer months, I believe that the company is well positioned to maintain the momentum into the rest of the year," he adds.
