Betfair
It's no secret that Betfair didn't have the best time of things in the first half of this year. Plummeting share prices and a succession of their top execs announcing their departure added to their woes and left the company in trouble.
Fortunately players at Betfair Casino could have remained completely oblivious to all of this as the casino continued to provide its usual impressive service. Betfair's casino website has recently been re-designed and is significant of a new beginning for the company.
Potential opportunities in European markets has meant that investors have been taking more interest in the Betfair shares while many of the holes left are now being patched up.
Two of the most important roles have now been filled as Breon Corcoran is due to replace David Yu as CEO. Even higher, the departure of Ed Wray, founder and chairman, was a big blow but his replacement has now been sourced.
The replacement is Gerald Corbett, a man who is no stranger to dealing with tough situations. He has served as chairman of the now-defunct Woolworths and Railtrack but resigned from the latter following the Hatfield train crash.
Speaking about his new company, Corbett said: "There are opportunities and challenges and we are well positioned to continue our success."
With these appointments and those of a director of sports, director of public affairs and UK director Betfair now appear to be well on track to continuing their growth as one of the top online gambling companies.
