European Flag
In case you might have missed it, today we posted a news item about how William Hill are now sponsoring The Vuelta, a Spanish cycling tournament which runs over three weeks. At the end of the news item we hinted how William Hill was branching into the European market and how it seems the bookies are keen to go global.
While the United States is of course cut off to them, it seems William Hill has decided to make a splash in Europe and we reckon that their sponsoring of The Vuelta is just one part of their European master plan. James Bond villain connotations aside, over the past few months William Hill has been shying away from its ties with the UK. The company recently announced that they’ll be moving operations to Gibraltar, apparently going back on a “gentlemen’s agreement” between the bookies and the UK Government. Citing tax reasons for moving, while Gibraltar may be British overseas territory, it shares a border with Spain and is distinctly European.
Now, in their latest move to increase relations with the gaming industry in Europe, William Hill has announced that they’ll be allowing customers to deposit using PaySafeCard. Essentially a prepaid voucher system, whilst PaySafeCard is popular in the United Kingdom it’s also particularly well-known in, yes, you guessed it, European countries such as Spain and Germany. Speaking about the deal, David Hunter, CEO of PaySafeCard, has suggested that the deal “is an important step for expansion in the UK and throughout Europe”. For William Hill, we reckon the emphasis is certainly on the latter. If you wish to find out more about PaySafeCard, make sure to consult our article about PaySafeCard Casinos.
Ever since William Hill Casino migrated from Cryptologic software to Playtech, they seem to have adopted the software company’s continental touch. Now offering more bonuses and games than ever before, even though William Hill is in the process of Europeanising itself, there’s still a lot of fun to be had at their casino.
