Bookmaker and online casino operator William Hill has become the first ever gambling or betting company to partner up with the Football Association.
The deal means that Hills will be an 'official supporter' of not only the official England football team but also the FA Cup which is entering its third round this weekend.
Hills will be able to use logos and the branding of the FA and their divisions in advertising – an aspect that they will surely look to take advantage of.
What aren't included however is the rights to operate betting booths inside Wembley stadium. The rights to that are still held by Betfred.
Speaking about the deal Ralph Topping – Hills' CEO – told the Guardian: "We have been looking for sponsorship opportunities from which we can reward and engage our customers for the events they most enjoy."
Hills' chief marketing officer Kristof Fahy claimed the deal offered "some very good opportunities to develop our brand across a wide variety of channels."
