When it comes to prolific casino players, they don’t come much bigger than Avery Cardoza. A gambling legend in his own right, Cardoza is the author of blackjack bibles such as Essential Blackjack Wisdom, as well as the owner of Cardoza Publishing and creator of Cardoza City, an online gambling magazine.
Strangely, it was with trepidation that we approached Cardoza’s Easy Money! How to Beat 10 Casino Games. Usually, Cardoza’s books are in-depth tomes which outline everything you could possibly need to know to win a certain casino game: Take for example his classic Winning Casino Blackjack for the Non-Counter, which details and analyses Cardoza’s optimum blackjack strategy and has been described as “revolutionary” by players and critics alike.
Easy Money! though is a rather slim volume, coming in at just 122 pages, and promises to cover a whopping 10 casino games. Our concerns were simple; we were worried Cardoza wouldn’t be able to do more than offer preliminary and basic advice in such a small space.
Fortunately, our concerns were ill-founded. Cardoza covers blackjack, craps, slots, video poker, Caribbean stud poker, Let it Ride poker, keno, poker, baccarat and roulette, as well as offering money management tips and casino basics. For each game you’ll find not only introductory guides, but strategy advice and, for games such as craps, in-depth information about specific bets.
It’s when writing about casino games such as blackjack and video poker where Cardoza really shines. Newcomers to blackjack who wish to learn basic strategy and are put off by strategy cards which offer no explanation will find solace in Cardoza’s blackjack strategy section. Here he clearly outlines basic strategy, alongside winning tips and gameplay examples.
Similarly, in the video poker segment of Cardoza’s book you’ll find out the following; relevant and informative guides to several video poker variations, how to handle your five card hand, as well as “winning” strategies for games such as Jacks or Better video poker.
After just one reading of Easy Money! not only was our knowledge of winning strategies for games as varied as slots and craps increased, Cardoza’s relaxed and friendly writing style both informed and charmed us throughout. At the beginning of his book, Cardoza promises both winning strategies and a fun read, and we can safely say he ticked both boxes. If you’re looking for an overall casino game guide which offers more than just a brief introduction and a few tips, then Easy Money! is for you, it’s an essential read for anyone who wants to win at an online casino.
