Caribbean Stud Poker's closest poker relation is 5 card stud, but unlike this game, Caribbean stud poker is played against the house, as opposed to other players. It makes sense then, that Caribbean stud poker is so popular in online casinos, as it's non-threatening (there are no other players), there's no need to bluff and you still have a wide array of other casino games available at just the touch of a button, as opposed to wholly poker sites where your choice is limited to poker variations.

Glossary
While the rules are relatively simple for Caribbean stud poker, like all of our other in-depth game features, we have included a glossary so you can brush up on all the key poker terms.
- Ante
- The ante is the first bet the player puts down on the table. When the cards are dealt the player has the opportunity to either surrender their ante, or double/triple their ante so it becomes a full bet. Bear in mind that if you placed £25 down as your ante and the bet is triple this, your total bet would amount to £75.
- Bet
- This is the full amount you place on your hand of cards and either double or triple the ante, depending on the stud poker rules.
- Dealer
- This is, as it sounds, the person employed by the casino who plays against you in Caribbean Stud Poker. They will be dealt 5 cards as well and will play against you to see who has the stronger hand.
- Progressive Jackpot
- Caribbean stud poker games played in online casinos often feature a progressive jackpot, which you can bet on by placing a side bet which usually amounts to just £1. Online casinos such as Intercasino offer this side bet and the maximum payout is triggered by a royal flush.
- Raise
- This is exactly the same as the bet option and is just a multiplier on top of your ante.
- Surrender
- If you feel your hand is significantly weak, you can choose to surrender your hand and give up your ante, as opposed to have to double/triple it and place a full bet. We recommend this option only if you are certain your hand is incredibly weak and doesn't contain and high-ranking cards or pairs.
- Wager
- This is how much you bet in total, so if you bet £25 and this was tripled by the bet option, then your wager would be £75.
