The Rio Casino and Hotel is the latest Las Vegas casino to be robbed after a disguised and armed man stole $35,000 (£22,000) in chips on Thursday at 4.30AM.

Anthony Michael Carleo, who is accused of robbing the Bellagio Casino back in December, is expected to face heavy jail time after admitting to his place in the incident, but this didn’t deter Thursday’s thief who has not been caught.

The thief has been described by Las Vegas police as a white male in his 40s. They also added that he had a moustache and at the time of the robbery was wearing sunglasses, a tan jacket and dark trousers. It has been reported by a number of media outlets that the moustache may be fake and that the man had worn it in order to not be recognised.

The incident occurred when the man walked into the Rio casino and started taking chips from a gaming table. When the man was confronted by the dealer and other casino staff he pulled out a gun but did not fire it. He then gathered some more chips and headed for the exit where he got in to a taxi.

The taxi driver claimed that the man did not act suspicious and simply asked to go to Terrible’s Casino on Flamingo Road where he paid his fare and walked away.
