The past few months have been particularly tough for the New Jersey casino industry. With the news that casinos in Atlantic City have reported their worst revenue losses in the past ten years, as well as MGM’s announcement that they’re considering restructuring their casino in the city, the industry is in desperate need of a kick-start which can hopefully help it return to some form of prosperity.

Well, it seems that Resorts Casino Hotel in Atlantic City is pinning its hopes on a new addition to the casino floor, in the form of “Retro” blackjack. The casino resort, which has had previous success with introducing kitsch themes, such as 70’s and 80’s disco nights, has suggested that “Retro” blackjack games will be available later on this month. The games will feature a particularly low table limit of $2, with a 25 cent fee per hand.

Kevin Brown, the Executive Director of Table Games for Resorts Casino told the press that the new blackjack game gives casino goers “an opportunity to become familiar with the game while playing with others who have a similar skill level”. However, it seems more likely that the casino introduced the game after calls for lower minimum table bets from visitors.
