Betfair Backs Gambling Awareness Day

Betfair has announced its support for the first Responsible Gambling Awareness Day. The event, which launched today and is expected to be remembered each year, has been backed by the gambling industry as a way of highlighting the hard work charities such as GamCare do in order to protect and help those with a gambling problem.
Betfair’s Managing Director, Mark Davies, wrote in the Betfair blog that they’re “glad to be able to support Responsible Gambling Awareness Day to promote understanding of an issue which we think about 365 days of the year”. Sports Minister Gerry Sutcliffe also noted that the day is a “fantastic idea”, suggesting that it “shows how the industry is taking initiative to promote responsible gambling”.
