Betfair Employ new PR Firm

Betfair has recently announced that MCHI, a media agency, will control the bookies and casino’s media accounts, which are allegedly worth up to £7 million.

Betfair suggested earlier in the year that they wished to expand their brand and to create an image which would see Betfair becoming “the betting person’s first choice”.

MCHI is a relatively new advertising business, which formed in January 2009. Since then, the company has grown from strength to strength, holding advertising contracts with the likes of Talk Talk and the Carphone Warehouse and apparently have a “buying clout” of up to £55 million.

The agencies expertise cover “digital, direct marketing, advertising and design” and MCHI boss, Tim Allnutt, has suggested that the company is often “totally objective about the advice we give to our clients.”

In recent weeks we’ve seen the effect of Mitch Garber’s presence regarding the promotion of both WSOP and Harrah’s (check out our blog for our views on this), so it’ll be interesting to see how Betfair’s advertising campaign grows over the next few months.
