Blackjack Player Wins £200,000
A blackjack player from Westcliff managed to win £200,000 at Maxims Casino in Southend. Paul Bahbout, who was in £50,000 debt, managed to scoop the prize by competing in a blackjack tournament, available in twelve casinos, including Maxims. Bahbout managed to win the prize by including a side bet of £1. The first player who uncovered four aces in a single hand would win the prize money and Bahbout was lucky enough to win the cash.
Speaking about the win Bahbout suggested that he was planning “the holiday of a lifetime to Dubai and Thailand” and was also hoping to visit Las Vegas. After he has paid off his debts, Bahbout will give the money “to help friends and family, who have had a rocky year as a result of the recession”.
