Users of the popular video web-cam website, Chatroulette, have reported that a fellow visitor to the website is now offering live casino games, which players can wager on by sending cash to the user’s PayPal account. Chatroulette has caused quite a stir in recent months due to its rather relaxed approach to pornographic activity and this new mystery croupier, who is effectively using the website to run an online casino, could land the website’s owner Andrey Ternovskiy, in hot water.

Chatroulette visitors who have come across the casino dealer have described him as dark haired, with a pale complexion and a mole/dark mark on his right cheek. The croupier encourages users to place their bets on mini roulette and blackjack games and sends them his PayPal e-mail address. Once a wager has been received, the dealer will start the casino game – if the player wins the wager, the dealer simply clicks the “Next” button in order to avoid paying out to the Chatroulette player.

Online gambling is currently illegal in the United States, with police and payment processors clamping down on companies which either run casinos or facilitate online gambling related payments. This is the first instance of a website as high profile as Chatroulette.com being used to offer online gambling. Given the name of the website, it’s perhaps unsurprising that one inventive user has come up with a way of offering casino games online.
