Casinos in Macau are currently experiencing a boom in share prices after the Chinese Government relaxed visa rules in the region.

In 2008, Chinese officials were concerned that residents in Gaungdong were gambling too much and enforced new travel rules, suggesting that residents can only travel between the region and Macau twice a year. However, Reuters has reported these rules have been relaxed, allowing more visitors into the region than ever before.

A Macau casino executive, who apparently doesn’t which to be named due to the sensitivity of the issue, has noted that “the latest version” of the rules is that residents can now travel to Macau “once a month out of Guangdong,” The unnamed executive went on to note that “gaming revenues for the first two weeks of the month have been good.”

Casino executives in Macau have also suggested that more and more visitors are returning to the casinos, after making an earlier visit in the year.
