Gambling Mobsters Linked to New York Officials

The recent arrests of 22 mobsters in New York, on charges relating to bribery and gambling, have meant that connections with state officials and the police have been unearthed. Last month police arrested members of the Gambino and Luchese crime families, after a series on investigations.

Police have now uncovered that the families built up a strong connection with members of the state government. A high up official in the Department of Sanitation has already been arrested, after it was alleged he leaked information to his brother-in-law, a member of the Gambino family. The arrests have meant that two gambling rings, which the families are believed to have run, have since been “dismantled”.
