Ladbrokes and Betfair Women Amongst Winners at Women in Gaming Awards
The inaugural Women in Gaming Awards were held on Friday night at the Millennium Gloucester Hotel in London. Winners on the night included Betfair Casino employee Daniela Attard who was awarded Affiliate Manager of the Year and Onika Russell of Ladbrokes Casino who won the prestigious Inspiration of the Year award.
The Women in Gaming Awards has been set up by the International Gaming Awards and is designed to recognise and reward exceptional women working in land based and iGaming industry. There were also special awards for role models and men who had shown a commitment to supporting women in business.
The award ceremony was an international affair with speakers, winners and guests hailing from USA, Europe and Asia making this a prominent event. The judges who awarded to the prizes to the shortlisted candidates were all women who have worked in land based and online gaming for many years. They represented a number of areas within the industry with experience being held in everything from PR to game development.
Organiser of the Women in Gaming Awards, Svetlana Thompson was thrilled with the success of the event and added: “This was the first time we’d organised the Women in Gaming event and it really worked.
