An elderly driver who crashed into the Edgewater Hotel & Casino in Laughlin, Nevada, has admitted he suffers from black outs and takes medication for seizures. Walter Melvin McGie, of Washington, apparently “appeared confused” after he crashed into the Edgewater Casino resort, killing two innocent bystanders in the process. McGie was later arrested in the Colorado River resort and apparently refused to follow police officers’ commands.
McGie is now facing charges relating to “reckless driving” and has been released on bail. The two women killed during the incident have been named as Helene Katherine Walker and Helen Hindmand, who were from Arizona and Nebraska respectively. Alongside the deaths, eight other people were injured during the casino crash. Bill Kinsey, who was at the scene of the incident, suggested that due to the impact “slot machines were just everywhere, just wiped out, tumbled and tossed”
