Saturday morning took an unusual turn at Arizona Charlie’s Boulder Hotel and Casino in Las Vegas, as a man claimed to be wearing an explosive device. The man had walked in the front door of the casino at around 9:30 am and immediately gone to the security desk and lifted his shirt to show what he said was an explosive device. Police were then called by security officers at the Las Vegas Valley hotel and casino and once they arrived, were able to handcuff the man and wait for the bomb squad, SWAT team and armoured units to arrive.

The bomb squad soon discovered the truth about the device and the main was taken in to custody. Police believe that the reason for this hoax attempt was that he wanted the SWAT team to shoot him. Visitors at Arizona Charlie's casino at the time of the event were left in the dark, as they were asked to vacate the building without being given any reason. However, after some time they were allowed back in and normal service was resumed.
