MGM Investigated Following 19 year old Marcus Jordan’s Tweets
Aria Resort and Casino
The Nevada Gaming Control Board has launched an investigation to ascertain whether minors were allowed to drink and gamble at the Las Vegas hotel-casino, Aria. It looks as if the old cliche: “What happens in Vegas stays in Vegas” may be proved incorrect, following the messages posted by the son of basketball legend Michael Jordan. As reported last week, Marcus Jordan posted on Twitter that he had racked up bills of $50,000 during one day in Vegas, including $35,000 spent at Haze, a nightclub situated in the Aria Resort and Casino.
Jordan, who was there with his older brother Jeffrey and basketball team-mate A.J. Rompza, is just 19 years of age and as the legal age to drink and gamble in the state of Nevada is 21, questions of how he spent so much money have been raised. The enforcement chief for the Nevada Gaming Control Board, Jerry Markling has confirmed that Aria owners MGM Resorts were under control and added that, “people under 21 often try to gamble or drink in Las Vegas, but punishment for casino operators depend on the circumstances.”
Markling also said that, “punishments could involve verbal warnings, fines or even the suspension of an operator’s gambling license.
