Milton Keynes Casino Delayed
It seems that plans for UK super casinos, an idea that was commonplace in the news a few years ago, are effectively falling apart. The latest to go is the proposed casino in Milton Keynes, which would have brought the Las Vegas Strip to Buckinghamshire town.
The casino developers, Xscape, were given the all-clear to build the new casino, but it's now been revealed that councillors think the casino plans should be reconsidered. This effectively places both Xscape and the new casino on hold, as they have to return to their planning application and discuss matters such as parking and enviromental effects in more detail.
Ken Baker, who is the chairman of Central Milton Keynes Town Council suggested the following regarding why plans have been put on hold; This submission was made without an environmental impact assessment...It has been deemed acceptable without an environmental impact assessment. This is a building that needs to be considered a little bit more thoroughly."
