Milton Keynes Casino Plans in Limbo

Following an announcement in June that councillors would be reviewing Xscape’s plans for a casino resort in Milton Keynes, little has been said about the future of the casino until recently.

The Milton Keynes Citizen has reported that protestors against the casino are gearing up for a meeting in which councillor’s will review whether Xscape’s plans for fine dining, 24 hour gambling and an expensive hotel-resort is right for the area. A group apparently called “Xplain” have suggested that a casino resort would bring “more traffic, crime, noise, fumes, speeding and danger to pedestrians” and are urging councillor’s to halt any casino related plans for the area.

However, Xscape, which will be designing the casino resort has suggested that the plans simply cannot be shelved any longer and Milton Keynes councillors must come to a decision. Xscape CEO PY Gerbeau has noted that the company has spent £500,000 changing plans in order to suit the councillors, but enough is enough.

On Monday, councillors in Milton Keynes will begin looking through Xscape’s updated resort proposals.
