Jobs Axed in Online Gambling Sector

Returning to the age old argument that the gambling industry is “recession proof”, the job losses at PartyGaming and 32Red Casino recently are food for thought. It’s been revealed that the downward trend in the economy has meant that the likes of PartyCasino have laid off around 100 workers, and similarly, 32red have lost over 50 workers at their Gibraltar based office.

The news comes after Playtech have revealed they’ve switched their financial reports to the Euro, in order to beef up figures and Intercasino have started looking for a new ad campaign in order to revitalise their casino. Similarly, in land-based casinos the future doesn’t look too rosy, after the Nevada Gaming Commission announced they’ll be taking on a new team to deal with the imminent bankruptcies.
