Playtech
The gaming software designer and developer, Playtech, announced their fourth quarter figures from 2010 and showed that online gambling is continuing to rise in popularity. The gross income for the period reported was 14% higher than the previous year at £37.7 million. Total revenues for the final three months of 2010 provided even better news for the Isle of Man based company. They had increased 21% from 2009 and even 13% from the previous quarter of 2010.
Playtech’s success is thought to have been helped by their acquisition of the land based casino management systems company, Intelligent Gaming Solutions (IGS). IGS have also reported significant increases in income with their entire 2010 gross income rising 26% from 2009.
In terms of specific online products, Playtech reported that their online casino activities were the most successful. Over all of their supported online casinos, Playtech saw a 20% increase in all online casino activity from the previous quarter. Online casinos powered by Playtech include bet365, Mansion, William Hill and Circus casino and it is the success of these casinos that is thought to have been one of the catalysts for Playtech’s strong figures.
CEO of Playtech, Mor Weizer said: “Playtech’s business has increased in all areas, delivering a very robust fourth quarter performance.”
