Priest Embezzled Church Funds
A former pastor has admitted to gambling away $432,000 of the Our Lady of Sorrows Church’s funds in White Plains, New York. Rev. Patrick Dunne pleaded guilty to a variety of charges relating to his embezzlement, including committing second degree grand larceny and will serve 6 months in prison, after reducing his sentence by pleading guilty.
Church goers have suggested that they’ll pray for the Reverend and Ted Gaskin, a member of Dunne’s former flock told reporters the reverend is “a very lovely man...underneath it all”. Dunne will be sentenced on January 12th and is expected to perform community service and repay the money he stole.
