Scientists Investigates Gambling “Risk Intelligence”
A scientist from the University College, Cork, has investigated 25 expert gamblers ability to appear sure about wagers. Dylan Evans recorded the “risk intelligence” of these gamblers and is now inviting members of the public to take part in his study. Evans’ hypothesis is that gamblers, as well as others within a high-risk industry are able to make bets that pay off because, in part, they have “the right degree of confidence”.
As Evans told The Times, the “test is designed to get people to venture into the twilight zone between knowing and not knowing, to get them to judge how certain they are about their knowledge -- or lack of it”. If you’d like to take part in Evan’s study, visit ProjectPoint.com.
