As most know, the main aim of blackjack is to get 21, as any hand higher that 21 means you are 'bust' (you lose that round). You can get to 21 in a variety of ways, but first, it’s probably best to know about card values.

Cards 2-10 are worth their face value, Jacks, Queens and Kings are worth 10 and aces are worth either 1 or 11. The easiest way to get a “natural” blackjack (to get to 21) is to reveal an ace and a 10 value card. Like most online casino games, you play against the dealer and if the player and the dealer get the same value cards, or 'push', the player’s bet is returned. Double Down: In blackjack, any first two-card combination can be 'doubled' with an equal amount of money placed on the original bet. If the player chooses the double down option, then they will be dealt only one more card. If you are feeling confident with your hand, then this is the option for you.
Insurance: The insurance option is available when the dealer has a face up ace and it looks likely the dealer has a 'natural 21', if this occurs you can choose to take an insurance bet, which usually pays out 3 to 2 or 2 to 1. Most casinos have their own versions of the insurance payout, so make sure to check first.
Multi-hand: Multi-hand is essentially when you can play multiple hands at the table. All online casinos lay their table out so your are seated in the centre, with empty spaces to the left and right of you, but with multi-hand you can fill up these spaces with extra card hands.
Rebet: If you have just placed a bet, the application will give you the opportunity to bet exactly the same amount again, just by pressing “rebet”.
Split: In blackjack, if you have two cards of the same value, you can choose to divide them into two hands, for example, if you had to 7’s, instead of making up 14, you could split them into two hands beginning with 7.
Soft 17: Any two card combination that includes an ace (not including an ace with a 10 value card) is called a “soft hand”. Most casino have a dealer option of soft 17, which is when the dealer will hit on soft 17, as if he goes over 21, the ace can be reduced to the value of 1, meaning the dealer isn’t bust. It has been suggested that the soft 17 rule gives the house edge an extra 0.20%, but it’s always best to check with each casino.
Surrender: Certain casinos offer the play the opportunity to forgo playing their hand and not draw any more cards, you will usually lose half of your bet for doing this, but if the dealer has an ace or 10 face up card, it can sometimes be wise to lose less this way.
